DESHAUN WATSON is about to make a comeback – and a return date has now been confirmed.
The 27-year-old Cleveland Browns quarterback has not played an NFL snap since January 2021.
Watson missed the entire 2021 season after being accused of sexual assault and sexual misconduct.
The former Houston Texan has reached civil settlements with more than 20 of his accusers.
Two settlements are currently pending, including one filed last month.
Traded from the Texans to the Browns during the offseason, Watson signed a five-year, $230 million deal.
In August, the NFL suspended Watson for 11 games and fined him $5 million.
He was allowed back into the Browns’ facility beginning Oct. 10 — halfway through his suspension — and has been attending team briefings and practice ever since.
Watson is eligible for a full reinstatement on November 28 and Browns general manager Andrew Berry has confirmed he will face the Texans on December 4.
That would be Watson’s first game as a Browns player against his former team.
He is set to replace backup Jacoby Brissett, who led Cleveland 3-5 for the season.
Berry said: “It was great to have him back in the building.
“He’s focused on working on himself. He’s stayed in great shape. He was part of the meetings.
“He did everything and more that was asked of him.
“We will be happy to have him if he can continue to increase football activity and return to the practice field.”
During his time with the Texans, Watson completed more than 1,100 passes for 14,539 and 104 touchdowns.
As a dual-threat quarterback, he rushed for 1,677 yards and contributed 17 touchdowns on the ground in his four seasons in Houston.
