When Maya Hawke’s Stranger Things family showed up in New York City on Valentine’s Day, it wasn’t for a premiere or a press event.
They were there to watch Maya, 27, marry singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson, 35, in a surprise wedding ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 14. The guest list read like a Hawkins High reunion.
Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and Joe Keery all attended. The cast that fought Demogorgons together now celebrated Maya’s big day together.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. Maya’s parents — Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman — both showed up, despite divorcing back in 2005. Thurman wore a light blue gown. Ethan went all-black. The moment marked a rare public appearance of the former couple at a family event.
Maya didn’t go traditional. She wore a white wedding dress, yes — but topped it with an oversized, feathery winter coat that screamed New York chic. Hutson played it classic in a tuxedo.
The couple first met years ago while Maya was recording music. Hutson, a New York-based musician who opened for Phoebe Bridgers on tour, appeared on Maya’s 2024 album, Chaos Angel.
Hutson confirmed they were engaged during a 2025 SoCal Sound Session interview. By April 2025, Maya was photographed with a diamond ring in Manhattan. That same month, they made their red carpet debut at the opening of John Proctor Is the Villain in NYC.
In July 2024, Maya gushed about their relationship on the Zach Sang Show: “I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. It’s the best. They know you.”
Now, those friends — including her Stranger Things family — got to witness the couple say “I do.”
