OTTO WALLIN insists he is a better opponent for Anthony Joshua’s rematch than Dillian Whyte.
Joshua, 33, is taking a break from boxing to mentally recover after back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, 35.
His promoter Eddie Hearn has named Wallin along with Whyte as potential opponents for his client on his comeback.
The Swede boxed twice and lost to Joshua in the amateurs and pushed 34-year-old Tyson Fury to the max in his 2019 fight.
And with Whyte, 34, being KO’d by AJ back in 2015, Wallin, 31, believes he sets himself apart from the British competitor.
He told Rekatochklart: “I think it’s positive that my name is mentioned, but I would like to be a pioneer.
“I think Whyte is good style for Joshua, he knocked him out last time, I don’t think much has changed.
“A guy like Usyk is a terrible style for him because Joshua struggles with good boxers and I’m a good boxer and a southpaw so I think I can give Joshua a better fight.
“I proved myself with Fury, I gave him a really tough fight and he dealt with Whyte a lot easier than me.
“Judging from that I think I’m a much better fight for Joshua and we’ve fought twice in the amateurs. I’ve lost close decisions in fights that could have gone either way, and we’ve trained before so we know each other pretty well.

“He knows I’m a good fighter and I know he’s a good fighter.
“I think this fight makes a lot of sense, especially considering I have a good following in England thanks to the Fury fight and the problems I caused him.
“So I think people would respect that fight.”
