Myles Garrett hiked up the side of a halfpipe in Italy with camera gear to film his girlfriend chase Olympic history.
The Cleveland Browns defensive end traveled to Livigno for the 2026 Winter Olympics to support Chloe Kim as she defends her back-to-back gold medals. Kim qualified first for Thursday night’s final with a score of 90.25, moving one step closer to becoming the first snowboarder to win three consecutive Olympic halfpipe titles.
“I got her whole run,” Garrett said after the qualifying round. “She’s amazing.”

Who’s Better at Their Sport?
After Kim qualified first, the couple cuddled up in the friends and family area and joked about sports supremacy.
“Me,” Kim said when asked who’s better.
“You’re better than me?” Garrett responded.
In January, Garrett broke the NFL’s single-season sacks record with 23 sacks, surpassing legends Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt. Last week he won his second Defensive Player of the Year award in a unanimous vote—all 50 first-place votes.
“I’m funnier than you,” Kim said.
“I’ll give her that,” Garrett admitted. “She’s funnier.”
“But who’s better-better?” Kim asked.
“I’ll let everyone else decide that,” he said.
Garrett’s Historic Season
The Browns defensive end had a season for the ages. With 23 sacks, he broke the single-season record set by Hall of Famer Michael Strahan in 2001 and matched by Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt in 2021.
Garrett also racked up 33 tackles for loss, 84 pressures, 39 quarterback hits, and forced 3 fumbles. “Simply put, he was unstoppable,” according to Pro Football Network.
He recorded the historic sack against Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter of the season finale. Garrett used his fastest get-off of the season—0.23 seconds—and a swim move to get past left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and take down Burrow.
It marked the 12th time he sacked Burrow in his career, breaking a tie with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for the most times Garrett has sacked a quarterback.
Kim’s Path to History
Kim, the snowboard sensation, is one step closer to a remarkable third consecutive Olympic halfpipe title. The Team USA athlete’s participation in Milano Cortina 2026 was uncertain following a shoulder dislocation last month.
She displayed no signs of injury during Wednesday’s qualifying. “I feel good. Happy to be here,” Kim told Olympics.com. “There is definitely a lot of pressure, but I believe the Olympics are incredibly special due to the immense global support we receive.”
The 25-year-old outperformed Japan’s Shimizu Sara, who scored 87.50, and her U.S. teammate Maddie Mastro, who finished with 86.00. Japan’s Judo Rise came in fourth with 84.75, while 17-year-old Choi Gaon from South Korea concluded the qualification round in sixth with 82.25.
Kim commenced her first run with a graceful backside 720, followed by the first 1080 of the qualification phase. Her score of 90.25 placed her comfortably at the top of the leaderboard.
Why Thursday Night Matters
Garrett might own one of the baddest records in the NFL, but on Thursday night, Kim can become the first snowboarder in history to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals.
“She’s going to do it,” Garrett said. “She’s the best.”
Shaun White was present at Livigno Snow Park, observing as Kim embarked on her quest to emulate the legendary snowboarder who claimed three Olympic gold medals in the halfpipe. White achieved gold in Turin 2006, Vancouver 2010, and PyeongChang 2018.
Kim aspires to make history as the first athlete to secure three consecutive Olympic halfpipe titles—something even White never accomplished.
The snowboard halfpipe final is scheduled for February 12 at 19:30 CET / 1:30 PM ET at Livigno Snow Park.
